Went to the newly-reopened and refurbished Trout pub with Krystyna today. I was disappointed to see that the nicest room, with an open fire, was set aside for smokers. On the plus side, this meant that most of the pub was non-smoking. Food is mostly the same as before, though they have a few new dishes, marked as such on the menu. It does seem a little strange in the garden, as they've replaced the dilapidated old bridge across the river with a shiny new one (in the same style). Then, we came back here to watch a very silly DVD - Mystery Men. Plus we plotted future photography session(s) a bit. Lovely evening.

This has been a pretty good weekend. On Friday, I went to the Turf with Richard, Dom, Alex & Tristam. This probably ranks up there with drinking port on Grove Quad at Lincoln as an essentially Oxford experience. Friends, an umbrella to keep off the wet, a brazier to keep us warm, and nice beer. Mmmm. Even if the brazier did make tfm's shoes smoke :-).

On Saturday, Kake came down to visit, for a nice relaxing weekend here at home. After Kake had gone to bed, I went to see Eraserhead with Dom & Alex. Um, a very odd film. As Alex said, 'donating a small piece of your sanity to David Lynch'.

On Sunday, Kake, Alex, Dom & I put Kake's Ick project into action. We went for lunch at the Royal Oak in Ickford, and took a photo of the village sign for the files. :)
