Magnesium

Cool and distant
you burn me like magnesium
kindled in the school laboratory

I shouldn't love you.
You eat me up
From the inside out.
You wouldn't do the other.
You eat me up - none left for myself.
Nothing given,
only pain gained

Yet he will give himself,
begs to, like you never would.
Yet, the god's are not happy with his meagre offering,
too eager extinguishes the flame of desire
On the mount of Venus.
I choke on his gift,
no sweet succor found here

I take him to sate my appetite.
Do him disservice by treating him
as an apperitif.
My hunger drives me, to my
shame - to the conclusion
Is this everything?
